The department consists of 3 research groups of vegetable diseases, pest control and integrated disease  management. It focuses on pathogen functional genomics, differentiation of physiological strains and  pathogenesis mechanism of predominant pathogens and insect pests on vegetable and flower crops. Explore  and application of insect and disease resistance genes and genetic engineering in vegetable germplasm  resources. Deciphering biology, ecology and integrated management of vegetable and flower insect pests  and studying the corresponding basic and application technology. Rapid diagnosis of diseases and pests on  horticultural crops. Early warning and control technology of invasive pests.
