The department consists of 4 research groups, including Large-scale Vegetable Seedling Raising  Group, Protected Vegetable Cultivation Group, Vegetable Soilless Cultivation Group, and Vegetable  Postharvest Technology Group. The research mainly focuses on (1) development of technologies for  large-scale raising of vegetable seedlings, (2) physiology, ecology and regulation technologies for high-  yield and good quality of protected vegetables, (3) substrate and organic eco-type soilless culture  techniques of vegetables in greenhouse, and (4) fresh-keeping and processing technologies of  postharvest vegetables.
